To promote closer association and unity among Philippine-American Medical Technologists for their common welfare and interests. To provide a network and a forum for issues and concerns affecting the practice of our profession.To actively participate in community activities that will enhance our positive image within the health care community and the public in general
Our History:
Under the auspices of our sister Chapter in Northern California, PAMET Southern California was established in 1989 under the leadership of Aurie Vidad as the founding President. Part of its initial funds was transferred in by a founding member fro a previous and dissolved Philippine - American association of Medical Technologists.
In our Mission of helping non-licensed professionals obtain their state license, we held Review Classes, which subsequently mushroomed our memberships tremendously. It was a waiting vacuum that was addressed. Over the years, our Chapter has helped more than a thousand aspirants obtain their State Licensure, who are now practicing in the community.
In 1994, under the leadership of National President Nonie Briones, PAMET Southern California hosted the 4th National Convention in Long Beach, California. In August 2009, it hosted the 12th Biennial National Executive Meeting and also held its 20th Anniversary Celebration and Induction of Officers, all rolled into one, under the Presidency of Art Trinidad in Universal City, California.

What is PAMET:
It is the acronym for the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists with nationwide chapters serving the professional and cultural needs of foreign-trained medical technologists. PAMET-USA is a national organization with the noble goal of unifying all Filipino medical technologists in the United States. It was born on September 1988 in Chicago, Illinois when three independent PAMET organizations (New York, New Jersey, and Chicago) decided to merge into one. Since then more chapters were formed including Southern California (1989). The governing body is the National Board with representation from all chapters. It convenes every two years, having the National Convention the even year, and the National Board the odd year. PAMET was born out of the desire to serve the growing needs of our profession. It is a recognition that Filipinos are the biggest minority MT group and that we can and should have influence in the future directions of our profession.
